The Mahoning Valley Young Professionals (MVYP) announced yesterday it will become an affiliate of the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber as part of its ongoing reorganization to better serve the community. As an affiliate under the Regional Chamber umbrella, MVYP intends to unleash new programs to help local employers recruit and retain young professionals, integrate the region’s post-secondary students into the organization, invigorate its annual 25 Under 35 event and more.

An initiative by the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber to overcome employment barriers has received financial support from the PNC Foundation in the form of a workforce development grant totaling $50,000. The project is part of the Regional Chamber’s effort to expand the local workforce in partnership with Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries.
